Questa villa era e rimase sempre la dimora preferita, come risulta dalle confessioni epistolari indirizzate all’amico Tito Pomponio Attico (110 – 32 a. C.) al quale scriveva: “adoro il mio ritiro di Tusculum, tanto che mi sento felice solo quando vado là” (Lettere ad Attico, 2, I, 6).
